Web Page

Here is the opening screen for what will be FreshDough.com. I decided to limit the color use, and have most of the screen black. Let me know what you think, would like to have some feed back. Thanks.

  1. Good start. Looking forward to seeing more characters and headlines in this same style. The guy is floating– consider bringing in the green background in certain areas to help divide the space and aid in readability. Right now, My eyes are being led from the FD logo diagonally down to the latest news- which is where i get stuck. The diagonal lines in the background mimic this movement, so lining up blocks of text in the site might help with stability.

  2. Another suggestion: SInce your audience is younger than those of the economist or mens health (on average), consider how this website will best appeal to them. Thinking about social networking sites (i.e., facebook) or younger-audience magazines (i.e., good, wired) might help– these are already seemlessly integrated into the lifestyle of your audience, and could provide clues for layout, etc. I would think your website would look more like a magazine or customizable site than the standard websites you mention as inspiration.
